After six months’ training and system test, the HD-CiTOS upgrading project in Lianyungang New Oriental International Container Terminal had been successfully completed and was formally put into operation early May 7th, 2008. One month operation proved the new system reliable. It helped to greatly reduce the dispatcher’s workload and improved the container handling efficiency at Lianyungang Port. On July 2nd, this system was finally checked and accepted.
This upgraded CiTOS is designed for container terminal with an annual throughput of 6 million TEUs, and includes functions as: vessel planning, yard planning, work queue, work instruction sending, auto stow, etc. It is more convenient and flexible for operating. Meanwhile, we bring in message mechanism and adopt message-driven bean in the whole operation system to accomplish data communication at all operation points in real time; besides, we adopt a creative concept of real-time data archiving to archive data into data warehouse in real time, thus to highly improve the system’s operation efficiency and provide solid data for the management and decision-making of the terminal.
